You can delete tagged text using the Shift and Delete keys.

The Shift and Delete key combination can be used to delete an entire tagged element (including any other tagged elements nested within the selected tags). To use this function, the Editor must be in the View Tags mode. Position the cursor on the left of the beginning tag of the element you want to delete.

For example, to delete a text paragraph:

¯ Place cursor here

|<TXT>For portions of the building to remain, protect building interior and materials and equipment from the weather at all times. Where removal of existing roofing is necessary to accomplish work, have materials and workmen ready to provide adequate and temporary covering of exposed areas so as to ensure effectiveness and to prevent displacement.]</TXT>

Hold the Shift key and press the Delete key. The beginning and ending TXT tags will be deleted, along with everything in between.

image\!.gif This method applies to Parts and Subparts as well, but caution should be used to avoid unintentionally deleting information you want to retain. For example, if you want to delete Subpart 2.1 but would like to retain Subpart 2.1.1, you should not use this method since it would delete 2.1.1 along with 2.1 (because it is located between the SPT =2.1 and the /SPT =2.1 tags).
