MASTERSPEC Division 1 Sections may not be used for U.S. Government projects without extensive editing.  There are significant differences between Government and private acquisition and contracting practices.  

For this reason, the NIH Division of Engineering Services has developed NIH Division 1 Sections to correspond, where practical, in subject matter, title and section number with the 1998 versions of MASTERSPEC Division 1.  The NIH Sections also reflect the content of the 1999 versions of the GSA MASTERSPEC where applicable.  

Additional Divisions 2 - 16 Technical Sections have been developed and reflect specific requirements of the NIH construction program.   Where an NIH section exists, comparable AIA sections shall not be used.

The NIH documents are located on the CD-ROM in the NIH folder.  Additional files are included in the NIH folder that provide a Consolidated Table of Contents of available NIH sections and explain Instructions For Use.
