The horizontal position of the text in the header and footer areas may be changed by the user. SpecsIntact uses pipe symbols ( | ) -- inserted by using the Shift and \ (backslash) key -- to indicate the position of the text or variable as follows:

• To center place between two pipes: |this text will be centered|

• To align left use no pipes: this text will align left

• To align right place two pipes to the right: ||this text will align right

• To align both right and left place two pipes between: this text will align left||this text will align right

• To center and align both right and left place pipes between: this text will align left|this text will center|this text will align right

You can use the same format settings for the optional headers and footers lines.

Default variables for the first header and footer lines are:

• Header: {jobtitle}||{jobname} -- aligned both right and left

• Footer: |SECTION {section} Page {page}| --  centered
