<p>The first thing to realise about printer paper is that it's not really paper at all. HP's photo-quality inkjet paper is actually a high-tech sandwich of micro-thin layers of chemicals, plastics and coatings. Each different paper has been formulated to work well in certain circumstances, so while plain 'photocopier'-style paper is great for crisp, black text, it's not so good for reproducing the fine detail and bright colours needed in digital photography.</p>
