NOTE: This guide specification covers the requirements for unit prices, additive
and deductive bid items, and options.
Edit this guide specification for project specific requirements by adding, deleting,
or revising text. For bracketed items, choose applicable items(s) or insert
appropriate information.
Remove information and requirements not required in respective project, whether
or not brackets are present.
Comments and suggestions on this guide specification are welcome and should
be directed to the technical proponent of the specification. A listing of technical
proponents, including their organization designation and telephone number, is
on the Internet.
Recommended changes to a UFGS should be submitted as a Criteria Change Request
(CCR).
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 BASIS OF BIDS
NOTE: Choose appropriate paragraph and sample form. For all forms:
1. Leave dollar values blank.
2. Provide the completed form with the final drawings and specifications for
inclusion in Standard Form 1442, "Solicitation, Offer and Award."
3. Provide a copy of completed form for Cost Engineering Department for Government
estimate.
4. Elements of each additive bid item shall be readily identifiable on the
drawings. If necessary to clarify, they shall be designated as "Additive Bid
Item." Do not designate bid item numbers on drawings.
For PACNAVFACENGCOM projects: Designate bid item numbers on applicable drawings
and include a description of the work associated with the bid item(s) shown
on the drawings. Additionally, on the Project Drawing Title Sheet (first sheet),
describe all of the bid items.
[1.1.1 Unit Price Schedule
NOTE: Select when the bidding format will be one lump sum with unit prices
for selected items of work. Edit "Unit Prices Form;" or prepare similar unit
price schedule.
This contract will be awarded as one lump sum with unit prices required for specifically selected work. A schedule
of the unit price work is contained in Standard Form SF 1442, "Solicitation, Offer and Award." See Contract
Clauses, "FAR 52.211-18, Variation in Estimated Quantity" and "FAR 52.236-16, Quantity Surveys," "DFARS.236-7008,
