This command can be executed from the Editor Toolbar

This command allows you to display and manage existing Tailoring Options throughout an individual Section. From the dialog box list, you can choose to display (by selecting) or hide (by deselecting) Tailoring Options found throughout the Section. Through this function, you can choose to include or remove all instances of any Tailoring Options in the Section.

image\stop.gif The disposition of any hidden options when a Section is closed is controlled by the related selections made on the Tools | Options | Save tab drop-down box under When Saving. You should click the Options button to review these options before using this function to avoid permanently removing options you may want to retain.

When you open a Section in the Editor that contains Tailoring Options, the Tailoring tags will surround them. Tailoring Options are designed to make specification editing easier by providing a method for pre-editing information that has been marked with Tailoring tags (<TAI>) by the Master specification writer. This provides the specification editor with the ability to included or excluded these portions in their entirety, thereby eliminating requirements that do not pertain to the Job without editing each occurrence manually from the text.

image\check.gif To add or remove individual instances of Tailoring Options in the Section, use the Insert | Tailoring command. You can also Tailor a Section without opening it in the Editor by using the SI Explorer’s Sections | Tailor function. To manage Tailoring Options for all Sections in a Job, use the SI Explorer’s File | Tailor function.

image\!.gif Removing Tailoring Options by any of these methods will completely remove them from the Job or Section, and the deleted text will not be displayed as Revisions. Therefore, if you want the text to be redlined with <DEL> tags, do not use Tailoring Options to remove it.

image\arrow.gif After you have saved a Section with hidden Tailoring Options, but BEFORE you have closed the Section or exited the Editor, you can still restore the hidden Tailoring Options by using this command. Select the Option you want to restore to the Section and click OK. Once you have both saved and closed a Section, all hidden Tailoring Options will be deleted and you will not be able to restore them, unless you have chosen Retain Hidden Tailoring Options from the Tools | Options | Save tab.
