PREMIUM QUALITY MATERIALS
The quality of Kohler lavatories begins with the materials used to create them.

|
|
Kohler Cast Iron
Solid cast iron construction stands firm against years of use. Made from one of the
strongest materials, Kohler Cast iron is "fire-polished" to obtain its deep,
glossy color. The unequalled thickness of Kohler enamel provides outstanding
protection against chipping and scratching.
Vitreous China
Vitreous china is crafted from a clay mixture that is fired at an intense heat to vitrify
the clay and fuse the glaze. The result is durable, non-porous china with a hard,
glossy finish. |

 |
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel lavatories are made of Type 304 quality stainless steel with an 18%
chromium and 8% nickel content. This provides excellent resistance to stains and
corrosion. To achieve their striking finish and high wear resistance, lavatories go
through a number of polishing and buffing operations. |

Spun Glass
Spun Glass lavatories are made of soda lime glass. The intensity of their color is
impacted by the thickness of the basin walls. Air bubbles formed during the casting
process work with naturally occurring pigments to give the glass a somewhat irregular
surface that's inviting to the touch. The thick glass walls can withstand rapid
changes in water temperature.WIDE SELECTION IN FOUR STYLES |
|
 |
Pedestal lavatories feature a lavatory basin that is
positioned at a comfortable standing height and rests on a pedestal base.
Wall-mount lavatories feature a basin that is hung from the wall at a
desired, functional height. Some lavatories feature a matching shroud which is
placed beneath the basin for support and to attractively conceal the piping.
Vessels are reminiscent of china washbasins with finished inside and
outside walls. They are installed so they will rest above the countertop.
Countertop lavatories are designed for use with vanities and counters:
Self-rimming lavatories have rolled finished edges that can be placed
directly over the countertop openings. Selected models are also offered with a metal
frame.
Tile-in lavatories are designed to fit flush with tiled
countertops. They may also be used with selected Kohler vanities and console tables.
Vanity Top and Above-counter lavatories are designed
to rest on top of the countertop.
FAUCET HOLES
When selecting a lavatory, be sure that it is compatible with your chosen
faucet. Lavatories are drilled for faucets with a distance of either 4"
(centerset) or 8" - 12" (widespread) between the hot and cold faucet
handles. Centerset drilling accommodate most single-control faucets with
escutcheons. Many lavatories are also offered with centered single-hole drillings to
accommodate single-hole faucets. Some lavatories do not have faucet drillings and
the faucet is mounted directly on the countertop or on the wall. |
