Dammon Engineering was awarded several contracts to design state of the art facilities related to building and testing fuel tanks for the space shuttle. Among these were the 60,000 s.f. final check out positions requiring 700 tons of air conditioning, to assure proper climate control within 15 minutes after the 160 ft. long, 30 ft. diameter tank entered the check out position.
Mr. Dammons tenure with the Boeing Co. and Martin Marietta, and his knowledge gained while designing and supervising the design of facilities for state of the art projects in the space industry, along with the knowledge that he was a problem solver and easy to work with, gained Dammon Engineering the opportunity to propose and received project work from the space industry. |
